History informs the collective memory of a culture. After the Neolithic age, male deities superseded female goddess cultures propagating the current crop of hierarchical, male-dominant religions—Judaism, Christianity, Islam and Hinduism—while reversing the high status of women’s roles, subordinating feminine character traits and vilifying and victimizing women in the process.Character traits form a symbolic language of what we see. Together they show a bias toward male-dominance, creating an imbalance.
In the future, one can only hope that the pendulum of gender bias will rest in a balanced view.
